AM: Treadmill - 9 miles in 62:20 w/ quality minutes based progression + strides. Core and stretching after.

Did 15 minutes up, 20 minutes @ 9 MPH, 15 minutes @ 9.3, 5 minutes @ 8, then some strides in the last 5 minutes. Better than last week. A bit stronger, but nothing impressive. Just trying to tune effort levels during base building.

PM: Treadmill - 5 miles with a few harder strides. Light stretching after

A guy (Mike Popejoy) I had a few classes with at Purdue won RnR New Orleans with what I think is about a minute or so PR. Held off Ben Bruce, but I see he ran a cheeky little sub-63 minute half at the championships. 15 seconds shy of the OT for the half. Still searching for that photo of us from B2B. It's pretty funny (the size difference).

That's a nice win for Mike, and fast time!

I think Bruce ran that sub 63 in 2014. He's been on a 100% Rock and Roll series tear since then. But I read that he's moving back down to the steeple for 2016.

Now that I think of it, that's right. I was reading a bit about his RnR conquests the other day, but the article I saw today was from last year at this time.

He's running LA. Hope he's thinking B standard and not A. Chicago didn't end well. 30k and dropped I think.

Yeah I saw his name on the entries. He would definitely benefit from being a tad more conservative. He's obviously got some ability and can be a very good marathoner.
