PM: 9th street and Heritage Trail - 6.5 miles, average 8:31 + 6 x 100m stridesĀ

Legs were definitely not loose during those strides. Guess that's why we do them. Early in the run a car swerved across 2 lanes and made a right-hand turn (one-way road, I'm going to same direction), almost hitting me. I can only guess they were trying to come close to me to be a jerk because I could see them move with my peripheral vision. I swiped at the car, but thought better of it (memories of redneck cab drivers).

PM: Jefferson High - 7 miles, averaged 8:06

Not a good week with you and drivers...good to always be wary.

I know it. I understand I'm not always visible and I sometimes forget that. Today I can only think that was intentional. Oh well.

Geez, sounds deadly up there. I'm often glad I live in the middle of nowhere...in the early AM, I might see 2-3 cars on a 10 mile run.

It's a small town, but it's a city compared to where I grew up (2000 w/ no traffic lights). Population here is about 60,000+. People don't have very good awareness of and as pedestrians. I will cough, spit, and make all kinds of noise to let know people I am behind them, but they always seem surprised when I come by them. Go to any city and even children have very good awareness of pedestrians. Exercise and non-automobile transportation is view at oddly and suspiciously (it shows in the size of people too. Indiana is a BIG state :))
