Tempo loop - 7.5 miles, averaged 7:11. Did a 2-mile tempo in 12:31 (6:14, 6:17). Felt okay. Did a couple strides. Strides felt good.

Not ideal weather for a dress rehearsal, not that I wear my singlet other than race day. Light snow over night. Temps around 30 degrees. It's been in the 70s from last Thursday until Sunday.

Night: 35 minutes of rolling, stretching, and core. Ryan Hall didn't respond to my Twitter question/reply. It's been 3 hours. He's dead to me.

If he had responded, I can guess it would have gone something like: "Ohhhh man, I'm so STOKED, this is CLASSIC..."

That's the quintessential Ryan Hall right there. He makes a much better runner than speaker/interviewee.

I was curious as to what he did for his final "meatyish" workout (as he called it).

I'd like to see him hang back, but he won't. He seems content to get a good response in the lead at Wellesley while the African runners are sitting back having gentlemanly conversation as the smell of blood reaches higher and higher intensity. Fernando Cabada did the same thing last year.

As you have said, if you want to look at how to pace Boston (respectively, of course) watch the ladies. I am going to go back and look at those 5k splits again.
