A bit slower than I would have liked (13 seconds slower than last week) but the effort was there. Warm and very dry. I was working a bit too hard in the last half mile. Too dehydrated most likely.

I've been reading your workouts and I think you might be pushing things. Know what I mean?

Why the dehydration?

Oh yeah, and when are you going to join the Fishtown Beer Runners? Google it.

Meaning I'm running too hard? I'm guessing you mean my earlier workouts. This is only the second one I've got through after my half. The 10k time trial was not really brilliant.

I welcome your advice as always.

I'm not sure I'm really that dehydrated, but I've had a few too many ciders this weekend.

I'm transitioning into a base phase, a long one. The above will be my only workouts for a while.

I'm familiar with the Fishtown Beer Runners. They are quite a way from me. And I don't like to mix my running and drinking TOO closely :-)

By pushing it I mean attempting workouts when none of your stars are aligning. By that I mean weather, diet, recovery, work stress etc. You can always push a workout back a day or two especially if you like to compare times with a similar workout a week or two earlier. You want to make sure you're competing apples with apples.

I see. Thanks.

I just don't like to see anyone unhappy or frustrated with their running is all. I'm enjoying my running now more than I ever have because I'm approaching my training day-to-day and listening to my body. I haven't always done that.

I understand. I had a bad race and I let it get to me. I've shut my watch almost completely off and that has been GREAT. Newer runners are obsessed with these things even when we try not to be. I'll likely get back on the trails a bit this week. Always nice to change things up.
