South side loop - 14 miles, averaged 8:07.

Warmish with medium humidity. Not terrible but it's not my favorite. Trying to acclimate.

I may not be the fastest guy on the blog, in fact I doubt I am in the top 100. But I am guessing I am in the top 10 for falls. Notched another one on the crete today and barely got a scratch. This is the second fall in 8 days and at least the 3rd fall of 2014. I can think of 8 or 10 falls in the last ~3.5 years. Average that over ~8000 miles and you don't have a good track record.

A very special Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers all the blog and wives and mothers of those on the blog. Hardest reponsibility in the world.

james is also a faller. his knees are covered in sidewalk scars, most notably his summer of 2013 wound within a wound scar (one knee, one week, two nasty falls).

We all have at least one area where we excel. Congrats on finding yours.

It seems I have some competition. I can't decide if PRs should be factored into the falls per 1000 miles equation or not. It seems style points would be necessary.

I've been pretty lucky. I just kind of roll, except for this winter. That hurt a lot and I thought I was going to be run over.

It generally happens when I'm running slow and I catch my right toe as I am lifting my leg.

Sorry, I can't help but laugh. You don't even discriminate with the seasons. I like it.

From Jason D on Sun, May 11, 2014 at 19:44:37 from 24.1.80.94

Historically, I think I have recorded more falls in non-winter months. The times I have fallen in the winter have been bad.

Uphill fall PR: 6:57 at the end of 13 mile run.

Flat fall PR: 6:38 in the middle of an 8-mile tempo

Wednesday I might try for sub-6:00 on the track!

"Hardest reponsibility in the world."

Uhhh, ever heard of Jack Bauer?

From Jason D on Sun, May 11, 2014 at 20:29:15 from 24.1.80.94

Yes, and look what happened! If he was there for his daughter she wouldn't be trying to hook up with terrorist's assistants and causing national security breaches. Just wait until you're a mom; you'll understand.
