AM: The Township Formerly Known As Springfield - 6.25 miles, averaged 7:52

Felt good this morning. I reconned another tempo loop. Still a touch hilly, but I think it will work for marathon tempos to work on changing gears and the occasional fartlek (when do I ever run those?). I can't see trying to do mile repeats on it, but I might throw it in for variety.

PM: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery - 6 miles, averaged 7:52.

I took a short detour through here the other day and spent two miles there today. Some of the headstones are absolutely incredible. Some even have friezes on them. It should work very well for intervals when I want to switch from the track.

Some folks do get crazy with the monuments. I think the instructions on my will are going to be not to spend more than $1.50 on my headstone. Find something on the side of the road...

Yeah. I've seen nice headstones, but I can't imagine what these cost. I have never seen anything like it. I'd like to be buried there (assuming I stay here and die here) but I am neither rich enough nor Catholic enough I am guessing. Cemetery closes after 4:00, so a fall afternoon/evening workout could be quite nice there. I do love running in cemeteries!

I haven't tried the cemetary thing yet. I run by 2 on most of my long runs. They do look enticing. Does that sound weird?..

I might make my casket I'm burried in, too (I'm not good with wood either). Kinda insane what people will spend on those things, too.

Cemeteries are nice: away from traffic, idiots, and uneven surfaces to fall all. Quiet and reflective. I leave if a service is going on of course. It's one of my only option for flat areas other than the track.
