AM: Treadmill - 4 miles.

HR monitor wasn't reading correctly; it was all over the place. I likely will stop using it again. I hate paying good money for things that are absolute crap.

PM: Trails - 8 miles. Hot. Quite a bit of climbing and working around downed trees. Pretty tired.

I really disliked the old school chest strap HRM's because of incorrect readings - annoying/discomfort etc. Switched to an optical HRM that I wear on my arm. It is pretty spot-on - liking it very much. Connects to garmin watches and to multiple phone apps with bluetooth. In case you want to try something else instead. Less than $75.

The Garmin 225 has a built in one I guess but it doesn't have the all the features I like, otherwise I would have traded it.

Scosche rhythm - connects to my Garmin 620 and lots of bluetooth apps on the iphone.

There is another one I have that's in a hat - called Lifebeam - which works well, when it is functioning. Its really buggy - when taking it off the charger for some reason - it locks up sometimes and its tricky to get it to turn on and off. Anyway, I like the idea of it in my hat for running when its sunny and hot, but not so much if it am indoors or if its so cold outside that I want more than a running cap.
