A few terrible videos of excellent running:

Robert Wambua's 63:36 finish

Pius Nyantika's 64:18 finish

Indy Monumental Start

Indy Monumental Start (5k)

Andrea Finishing

AM/PM: Examination, X-Ray, and MRI today. I found the doctor somewhat smug and antagonistic, but I guess I may have been feeling angry and defensive too. I signed up for a gym membership (shivers). Closer than Purdue (1 mile walk), and as much as I love all my students, my fitness stuff is my time and if I have to be on an exercise bike it will not be to the ambience of Axe body spray. I think I get a complimentary V02 max testing, which I wouldn't normally do but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious (it's similar with an IQ test I think. It doesn't make much of a difference if you know). All in all, an expensive day I am sure, especially given the back alley grad student insurance I carry.

Wambua really took that last turn wide! He was moving :-)

I'll post Andrea's video a bit later. I also have her start and yours. I got a few pics of you and Paul at the start line, but I really don't operate an iPad too well.

Cool, I'll look forward to seeing those.

You'll be a pro by the time iPad 9 comes out.

Jake was making fun of you on our cooldown for looking like a Japanese tourist with your iPad :)

Yeah, I'll stick with running! I could only have been more awkward if I pulled a Sue (my mom): one year she was taking Christmas videos and pictures with her laptop's camera eye (which are the time was on the front only).

Apologies for people's heads. They clearly weren't following directions to get back on the sidewalk. Half the pictures I have are of a woman's face, but I have a number of pictures in which Paul emerges from behind the first row to chat with people.

Thank you for the videos!! That is quite an arm swing and overstride I got going there :) And I love the 3 Saucony uniforms takin gover the half marathon start.

From Jake K on Mon, Nov 04, 2013 at 15:28:02 from 159.212.71.25

Yeah, thanks Jason. If its OK w/ you, I'll link to those videos (or embed them) on Wasatch and Beyond.

A lot of people jumped the gun on Andrea and I in both races!

From Andrea on Mon, Nov 04, 2013 at 15:31:03 from 72.37.171.52

Yeah except for Brandon York, who must've just been loping around at the start for his chip time to be that different to "beat you" in the results when you had several strides on him at the finish.

From Jason D on Mon, Nov 04, 2013 at 16:04:37 from 24.1.80.94

Lots of arm swing is good! Check out the second place guy; he goes into full 100m sprinter arm swing mode. I was trying to think of the proper name for Saucony people. Saucones, Sauconers, Sauconiites.

Feel free to distribute, steal and so on. I kept the individual ones restricted to those who had the link (in case Andrea didn't want me to make hers public). And if you would like them transfer to you, I can do that. You might not want to be associated with my account and whatever bad musical choices I make :)

I feel a bit outraged that they really try to sell this event and they have to say "go" and don't have a more typical gun or horn start. My first race was set off by a canon firing. It fired early, but hey, it was a canon!
