Country Roads - 10.25 miles, averaged 7:40. Did some strides.

Tried to connect to one of the trails I've yet to explore but the route I took wasn't super safe. You get out of Chestnut Hill and it's all beautiful farmland, but not great for safe running. Lots of sheep and other critters.

Snagged a pair of A6s. I am retiring lots of shoes and selling some that I won't end up wearing. Really good sockless. HUGE update from the 5s. Not sure if it is a marathon shoe for me. Need some more runs. As responsive as my Newton flats (which I wore for my last marathon) and even lighter, but they are more forgiving with the 4mm as opposed to 0mm drop. I may just play it Safety BoB and run in a new pair of Kinvara 5s.

I'm really taking a cutback week this week (was supposed to last week, but even cutting out doubles didn't quite do it). Doing my tuneup half next week end. My #1 goal is to win the race.

It's a great racer. I sort of wish they'd take it to 8mm and leave everything else as is.

I've only worn them sockless for hiking and rappelling and can assure you they work great for that, too.

I may try them as slippers watching Walking Dead later.

It's amazingly comfortable out of the box. Very good stuff from them lately. I'm guessing my crazy wide feet are going to bust the mesh but that happens on my Newton flats too. For the price difference I'm not that committed to Newton ($125 versus $72 on sale)

Jason, I'm sure someone has shown this to you before:

If I lived there, I would try to pick off parts of this run. Well, except for the running "through a scary cars-only tunnel" part.

I have seen it, Tom, but thanks for sharing. I've run along Kelly Drive (and raced on it too). Miles 20-23 or so are where I have been.

The Rocky Steps are about 11 miles from my place and I haven't done the "Rocky Steps Out and Back" as I planned to, but depending on how long I am here I am sure it will happen. Not sure about the whole course but people do do it!
