Day off. 29 days on. Megan and I are headed to Toledo to see her family. Probably long singles where and when I can fit them in. I've marked out a tempo loop in my in-laws' neighborhood (we usually stay with her uncle).

I found some track races at one of the local high schools. Looking at two 5000s and one 1 miler. I'm beyond excited. I'm sure in the heat and during the race it won't seem like such a good idea.

That's cool. And maybe you'll get a cool night or two for a 5000. Running the mile when it's hot out isn't bad.

You wont even have to wear a watch... have Megan call out splits!

I looked into one you sent me but they had no 5000. This looks less complicated but I hope for $10 an event (which is still okay) it's decently organized. I think the course will be accurate at least :-)

How are you doing?

In theory you should be able to have a decently organized track meet for $10, which is well worth it in my book.

I am doing excellently. Busy with work (in a very good way), and getting less injured.

$10 is fine with me. Better than a $25 road race where I might run off course.

Good to hear things are going well. Been meaning to ask but I never know if it's more annoying than appreciated.

From you, not annoying and appreciated.

I should jot down some more detailed thoughts about what I've been up to at some point but I've become content just posting photos from time to time :-) Some say they are worth a thousand words, but a writer like yourself may disagree.

Images are great too. The Utah landscape is incredible. I've been slightly obsessed with Abandoned America photos lately. Different than beautiful landscapes but I'm drawn to them.

That's a cool site. Bookmarked!

Can I run in spikes for the track events or is that just completely unnecessary for someone of my ability? My A5s are almost toast and I don't have anything I like that has the same grip on the track.

From Jake K on Fri, Jun 05, 2015 at 21:02:41 from 70.208.12.116

Absolutely wear spikes.

But try to get in at least some 200s or 400s in them first.

From Jason D on Fri, Jun 05, 2015 at 21:39:33 from 68.80.27.222

That was my plan, either after the track or on an easy day. My friend Brandon said for a 5k my calves would be sore, but I've been wearing zero drops for everything from the mile to marathon for a while now. Not the exact same but still.

Thanks for the help.
