PM: 5 miles in the rain and semi-darkness. Completely soaked but I had fun and I'm feeling pretty good. On par with last year.

Bib #444. I guess I need to break 2:44:4x. Going to be some difficult winds I'm afraid. I'm not a good wind runner. Or a hot weather runner. Pretty much I'm good when it's 30-45 degrees, overcast, and calm.

Find some poor chap to tuck behind and draft away! It's amazing how much that can help.

Good luck this weekend. I'll be looking forward to the report. You've prepared well.

You often don't really notice the wind when you're racing.

Stay positive! Relax and don't think too much about the race. Find ways to disconnect and focus on something else. Go to a movie. Stay off your feet as much as possible and try to get some extra sleep.

What I really need is someone, about 6-3 and maybe 200 pounds running low-6 minute pace to hide behind but something tells me I'm not going to find that :-)

I'll be grading and doing some online tutoring Saturday and tomorrow, Rob. Not really the way I want to take my mind off the race but it's got to be done! Strangely I haven't been completely preoccupied with it. Enjoying a little bit of rest actually. I've been getting in some extra naps and will have plenty of sleep the next few nights.

Good luck, this could be a big one.

Good luck and run strong. You are ready and can handle what comes your way as far as the challenges!

I appreciate the motivation and kind words. They are helpful at this point when I'm thinking "26 miles is a long way to run . . . "
