Probably no run today. I hate to end the year on a zero but I just don't feel great mentally and I've had a bit of a cold the last three days. My hip has also been a bit unstable. I jumped to try to grab the rim at a basketball game and I had a sharp pain when I landed. It feels fine running unless the ground is unstable. It's been making itself known here and there. No pain  just unstable.

Happy New Year.

Hope you start feeling better.

Happy new year, may 2016 be a blessing to you and Megan.

I thought for sure you'd crank out a 52 miler just to hit 4,000.

No biggie though. I've been running since 1977 and I've yet to run a single 3,000 mile year.

Thanks, Jeff. Best wishes to you and your family.

It's a lot of miles, Rob. That week off after the marathon and 3 days off in December cost me! I'm sticking with my week off after a marathon even if it makes me feel awful. I thought maybe what I ran last year or 3750 would have been good. Just kind of happened. Best wishes to you and your family.

If you really go for it, can you grab and hang on the rim?

I could do that when I was 16, but wouldn't come close now!

From Jason D on Mon, Jan 04, 2016 at 10:08:50 from 68.80.27.222

In high school I could with some careful gripping run from the 3 point line and get the ball up but I couldn't throw it down. The ball would fly out when I pulled the rim down. I think I needed another 2-3 inches.

I think if I ran and went off one foot I might be able to tip it. This was off two feet more or less standing start.

I'll stick with horizontal movement I think.
