Purdue Co-Rec - 10 miles easy. Kept Brandon company during his longer run. Felt good, and like I could have run all day, which is usually a good sign not to push. Got the legs loose and a good hip stretch after.

Woke up with sore spot on my hip, which I thought was from having a bit of wine last night and running into something I don't remember, but I remembered I fell cooling down on the Canal Trail yesterday. I think of 7 cool downs I have done on the trail, I have fallen twice. It's concrete so it isn't as if there are roots tripping me up.

Congrats on the pr. Point of order: bit of wine or drop of wine? I dunno, these days they hand out qualifications to any old fat lad:)

Wine actually consumed > a drop, and < the story makes it sound :) That was a bit of storytelling. I had plenty though. It was a good race. Should have relaxed a bit more and I could have run, if not faster, with less wasted effort. Goal for the half is to start out ~PR pace or a few seconds below and push until I am running 5:50 pace at 10 miles, then attempt to knock a few seconds off that in the final 5k. The old 4 x 1 mile w/ 90 seconds rest is coming up this week. 5:35-5:48 pace doesn't feel that hard (it's certainly not easy) but I need something faster but longer than strides to get the legs going (hopefully 5:25-5:35). Of course I welcome other suggestions!
